A simple guide for residents and families

Supporting independent living with privacy in mind

Enhanced Day is designed to help spot meaningful changes in daily routine earlier, so support can happen sooner if needed.

It is built to be quiet, simple, and privacy-first.

What is Enhanced Day?

Enhanced Day uses a small in-home device to understand general patterns of daily activity in the home. The aim is to notice when something is different from normal — for example, if the home is much quieter than usual, or usual routines do not seem to be happening.

This can help families, carers, or support teams decide whether a friendly check-in may be helpful.

What it does not do

  • Cameras
  • Microphones
  • Audio recording
  • Wearable pendants or watches
  • Live video monitoring

No one is sitting and watching what happens in the home.

What it is for

  • Support people to stay independent at home
  • Help notice meaningful change earlier
  • Give reassurance to families and support teams
  • Reduce the chance that a problem goes unnoticed for too long

It is there to support independence — not to take privacy away.

What information people see

Families or authorised support teams do not see video or audio. They see simple information such as:

  • Whether daily activity looks broadly normal
  • Whether the home appears quieter than usual
  • Whether there may have been a meaningful change in routine

This helps them decide whether to check in.

Why some people choose it

  • Nothing has to be worn
  • Nothing has to be charged
  • There are no buttons to press
  • It works quietly in the background
  • It can help spot concerns earlier without being intrusive

A simple example

If someone usually has a regular morning routine, and over several days the home seems much quieter than normal, the system may highlight that change.

That does not mean something is wrong. It simply means a family member or support team may decide to make a friendly check-in sooner, just to make sure everything is okay.

Your privacy matters
