How electrical activity is interpreted

Enhanced Day looks for patterns of household electrical use that may support reassurance and earlier review. Electrical movement alone is not treated as proof that a person is active.

Brief spikes

A single reading or near-zero-duration high-power spike is excluded from resident-activity and appliance/routine inference. It will not by itself be described as kettle use, microwave use, a meal, washing, waking or general activity.

Technical review

The spike may be retained as an unclassified electrical anomaly for later technical review. Repeated or changing spikes can indicate an appliance start-up surge, solar/battery/inverter behaviour, a CT or installation issue, or another electrical effect.

Important: A recorded anomaly is not confirmation of an electrical fault and is not an emergency alert. It is separated from care monitoring unless supported by sustained or corroborating evidence.

When it may be investigated

Review may be appropriate where spikes recur over several days, increase in frequency or peak level, coincide with abnormal voltage or power factor, become sustained, or suggest a sensor/installation discrepancy.
